The Gift of Warmth

Homelessness in America is a chronic national problem driven by many factors. At Arctix, we believe that premium outerwear made from the best materials, and engineered to keep people warm for extended periods of exposure to the elements shouldn’t just be for winter sports enthusiasts. America’s unhoused population needs that kind of protection too.

That’s why we’re donating more than 108,000 coats and other premium outerwear from Arctix inventory valued at $5.2 million to qualified organizations starting immediately.

The Dakota Project Story.

Dakota’s teenage heart is a big one. Since she was a little girl, she’s constantly observed the challenges of others and asked “What can I do?” The nation’s homelessness crisis is one of those challenges and she had a simple, yet impactful idea. Get her father, Arctix Chairman Matt Bruderman, to provide coats and other outerwear to as many of America’s unhoused population as possible - and not just any coats. New coats, made from the best materials, specifically designed to maximize protection from the elements.

Dad agreed, Arctix sprang into action and the Dakota Project was born.

Our Mission

At the Dakota Project, we know that solving the homelessness crisis is a national challenge requiring a range of solutions. While leaders and non-profits work to help reduce the homeless population, the Dakota Project was created to:

  • Provide an historic number of new, premium quality coats and outerwear to qualified non-profit organizations for distribution across America;

  • Design the first purpose-built clothing line for the unhoused, who experience long-term exposure to the elements;

  • Activate Americans to sponsor these new, purpose-built apparel for distribution from Arctix to homeless support organizations across the country.

  • Start a movement that encourages all Americans to do their part to help those living on the streets.

Purpose Built Outerwear To Protect America’s Homeless

Arctix Purpose Built Coat 2024

Coming 2024

Right now, Arctix designers are developing the first premium quality, purpose-built line of coats to help protect the homeless from the elements. Using the best materials, latest design techniques and proven technology, this coat will be made to keep individuals warm, dry and safer than anything they’re wearing now. Arctix will be unveiling this new coat in early 2024.

“All of our garments utilize the best materials and design backed up by years of research to keep people warm and dry. While the nation works to keep people off the streets, those in need deserve the best protection from the elements.”

— Matthew Bruderman, Chairman Arctix
